Tuesday

I need to start blogging more.

How cute is this picture of our Kevin's niece Brooke!
She is just the cutest little thing.
I have so much to update on here!
I work pretty much all this week and I have to clean my room.
I can barely see my carpet, it's full of crap everywhere!

But no excuses!
I have to blog more!

Until next time!
Hope it's soon!

Friday

Ooh... Friday 13th!

And I am at home. Not at work. Or on the road.
Thank goodness!
Because I know anything bad that can happen, happens to me!
Especially at work!
So today I have decided that I need to gather the hundreds of pics that I took down at Disney, put them on a memory card, and go get them printed!
I have a printer here but my ink runs out soon and is freaking expensive!
With these pictures I am going to put them into a scrapbook that Kev bought me down at Disney.
I also want to get frames for the dinner menus that I took was given for some of our meals at Disney.
I can't wait!
Also, today I am going to see my good friend Quynh and possibly her lover boy Dan.
I wanna go out and do something with other people!
I feel like if I keep sitting here I'll end up with a bed sore cause my a$$ hurts like no other from sitting so much!
But when I walk around my foot hurts.
Conundrum!
We'll see how the next two weeks go as well. My poor buttocks. :(

Anywho, enough about that.
Here are some pics from Disney for you. Enjoy!

And there are so many more where those came from!

More to come....

Sunday

Sunday ... day of rest...

Day of rest.
Sunday.
Do these go together?
Sometimes.
I am doing it to day.
Resting.
I have three (grueling) days of work ahead of me and then I have off for Kev's bday which is this Thursday.
I don't know what to get him that will surprise him.
I don't want to share what I think I will get him in the small chance that he actually checks this blog.
He never does.
Although I can't really blame him because I don't do anything on this blog lately! haha

Back to his birthday.
I wanted to plan something cool to do but he only has one day off (the 27th) and I wasn't able to plan a weekend thing because of him working, I need to get my house cleaned before the weekend is over and lack of spontaneity (sp?) in my part.

See... he planned a big ass surprise birthday party for me the weekend before my birthday and really got me a great present: both our families and friends all together. It was perfect. Stressful for him and our families but perfect because right about now that is all I need for a birthday present. Family coming together and sharing love for each other.

So now that he's done that I wanted to outdo (sp?) him.
I wanted to make this big deal about his birthday plan on inviting a bunch of people to come with us and etc.
But with me working four days last week and lack of planning on my part I didn't get to do anything like that. So we're probably going to end up goin to dinner somewhere local for his birthday (blah). And for his present probably something he's expecting me to get him (again... blah).

At least we told each other not to get presents (even though he threw me a surprise birthday party...) and he can't get too disappointed. Yuck.
I suck as a girlfriend in surprising him. He is not easy to surprise either. He will know if I even tried to do something for him.
Me on the other hand - had.no.clue.whatsoever.
He planned everything in front of me from getting his house ready for the party and buying all the stuff.... all in front of me. I just couldn't put two and two together. I suck.

haha

Well I hope I can at least get him something that he'll love (like this stupid freaking video game that costs $50!!!)

But for today, no planning.
Just rest.

Rest is good for Sofia.
aaaah... putting my feet up...

It's a great day for resting. the weather is shitty!

later...

xox,

Saturday

Holy Disney planning!

Yep. You read right!
I'M GOING TO DISNEY!!!!!

I am so happy! I am in dire need of a vacation for such a long time.
This is gonna be awesome! It will technically be my second time ther but not since I was about 6 yrs. old! Plus, it's just Kevin and me so there aren't too many ideas thrown in.
It's hard enough to decide where to eat and what to do and it's only the two of us!
So far we have one day planned out:
our 5 year anniversary as a couple, from our first date, our first kiss and our first trip to NYC.
It's been a crazy wonderful odd fun and awesome 5 years together.
We definitely deserve this trip together as neither of us have gone NOWHERE in awhile! Hahaha!
We're slowly becoming real people who do things.
Ever since I graduated (more on that later) and passed my boards, Kevin and I have been able to do actual date's and "normal" things that couples do. I have missed that so much. School and studying has been my priority for such a long time that it's been hard to go back to being a regular person.
They don't tell you how much changes and how your perspective of the world changes when your in college.
But thank goodness and all that is mighty that I am done!!! Can I get a Halelluyah!!!

Well that's what has recently been going on with me.
How about you?

Til next time!

xoxo

Tuesday

Fall fall fall... is here!

So i am not the biggest fan of fall but I do love many parts of this season. I get to start changing my wardrobe, my lotions, and start wearing my scarves!..... OK. maybe i do like fall... haha...

The leaves are changing and I absolutely love seeing the foliage! I hope to take some time away from studying and take some great pictures of the foliage around my neighborhood and city.

There are gorgeous mountains behind my house and when the leaves start turning it is just so pretty and I love watching the transition as the days go by.

There are already frontyards filled with leaves and people raking up the leaves... ah fall!

Onto a few updates in my life, I have just the rest of October for this class and only one class will be in my way towards getting my diploma. *sigh* I need so much to do in such little time but it's incredible how fast the time has gone by!

The biggest thing that I feel like I need to update about is the big big BIG purchase Kev made this week.
Yep. That's right. He bought his beloved truck! I gotta say it is pretty awesome!
Can you tell he's excited? That's the most he has smiled for me in a picture! yay! I'm happy for him and that he was able to do this for himself. He's been so good at saving and I'd rather he do this now than having even more bills (i.e. mortgage, electric, water, taxes etc.) when we move in together. Hopefully by the time we move in he'll have this lovely monster of a truck for awhile and we can put it to some good use to move our furniture etc.
Here he is. Driving it for the first time on the road. My baby all grown up in his new truck. It is soooo spacious and pretty (sshhh! don't tell him i said pretty. it's manly to him. ;p)
Me being silly and loving the fact that I got to be his first passenger in his new truck and drive home. yay!

{all images via my camera}

This last pic is of him with the Thunderbird he traded in to get his new GMC Sierra.

He really did love his T-bird but I think he'll get over it and we'll always remember that car and have enough pics and memories to last a lifetime.

p.s. doesn't Kev look so handsome in his work gear? i love seeing him after work. i know he hates his suit because he wears it all day but i think he looks so handsome (and hot ... ;p) in it.

But poor him by the end of the paper work and signing of everything his back was hurting so bad he limped out of the dealership. I don't know what's wrong. He said kidney stones but I don't think it's that. I think that he just strained his muscles somehow but i'm sorta worried because he was having pain down his leg. if he isn't any better or gets worse during work i'm taking him to the ER. There could be a small chance he does have kidney stones but if he has a pinched nerve 2 ibuprofen/motrin is not gonna help him at all. especially him not being able to swallow pills the crushed med might not be working well. I wish Motrin made liquid meds for adults and not only for kids. Tylenol has it why not Motrin??!!? or Excedrin!??! Tylenol will not help much because if it is just his muscles, he needs a anti-inflammatory i.e. ibuprofen.

anywho, please pray he gets better cuz i hate seeing him in pain. especially when i can't do anything else but tell him to put a warm compress or patch on his back. =(

ok. i'm gonna go now. gonna surf the web a little and then sleep because i need it. clinicals all day kicked my butt!

see ya on the flip side!

Friday

What have I been up to?

Well probably updated since these have happened but will tell anyway...

1. Went to a David Cook concert. Very awesome. But very short concert and he didn't do a encore song! We were all very disappointed!

Went with these two great ladies Lauren and Tina:
And this handsome guy was kind enough to tag along... Doesn't he seem SO excited??? haha!

(see more of my Dave Cook vids here!)

2. Cut my hair and put highlights in it!

How does it look? Good? Bad? Yay or Nay?
3. Did I mention I went to Niagra Falls??? Well ... I did!

Surprisingly enough I took this picture with my digital camera! I L.O.V.E. it!!! Looks like a painting! So pretty!
{check out my video from Maid of the Mist that I went on with my cousins...}

Tis all for now.
Have to run some errands for school and work.
Hope to blog later!
It was a wonderful time to be in the blogging world again!
Hope you don't make yourself a stranger now either!

I love reading and especially any comments left here!

Friday

Well hello!

I just updated my blog and I talked a little bit about what has been goin' on and what has taken

hold the phoneImage by Darwin Bell via Flickr

up all my flippin' time!

Of course, I am talking about nursing school!
Bleh!

But I am almost done (one class down, one more to go - this semester anyway) and December cannot come any sooner!

But otherwise I have been ok.
I have yet to show my new look and my new do - how horrible of me I know especially because I asked for help and lovely Marie offered her help by telling me to just do it and it is only hair! It will grow back! So I did end up cutting A LOT of hair off because I sooooo needed it - my hair was starting to look like a nest! Especially after seeing myself on my videotape of skills, my hair was lookin' horrible! Now it is so much easier to style, and lighter, and has some color to make me look alive! haha

Also, like my last post said, my friend did go through something horrible and she has not been returning my calls/texts so I really do hope she is doing ok. I love ya girl!

All in all, everything is going ok - so far. If I could only get my flippin' grades into my gradebook that would be freakin' fantastic so I know what I have to get on my final to be able to pass this darn class. I also have to figure out my nursing GPA because that has to be higher than a 2.5 (thank goodness - because the newcomers have to have it at a 2.7 or higher - sucks to be them!) and right now I believe it is higher than a 2.5 but am not sure if it's exactly a 2.5 or slightly above it, or I am at a 2.7... who knows right now. My overall GPA I think is closer to a 2.9 - 3.0 and that is fine. *phew*

But enough about school. For now....

I wanted to update you on the current "investment", as Kevin would call it, he wants to make. It is pretty big but I think it's a really, REALLY bad idea for him to do this right now. Let's see if I get any responses from you ladies and gents...

Kevin wants to buy a truck. The size of Ford F-150, and a new one no less! (Not really wanting a used one...)

His reason why it is a good idea?
  1. It will help with a future move when we decide to move in together instead of renting a U-Haul.
  2. It will help others, family and friends, by having a bed of a truck to transport things in - just in case.
  3. It will be better in the snow and safer for him to drive to and from work during really crappy weather.
  4. And he also put on a sad puppy face saying "I want a twuck." *sigh* =p

Reasons why I think it is a bad idea for him to make this investment - RIGHT NOW?

  1. We are not moving in together for another 2 years or so, so why do we need a truck?
  2. His brother has a Suburban - why can't we just ask him for help? (selfish of me? maybe... ok yes it is... so sue me... ok don't cuz I have no money!)
  3. HE DOESN'T HAVE THE KIND OF MONEY TO INVEST IN SUCH A THING!!!
  4. His car right now (a Ford Thunderbird) has crappy MPG and having a truck is not gonna make it less expensive to put gas in that baby. A 36 gallon on a F-150? Crazy amount of $$$ will have to be spent to fill that up!
  5. If he wants to trade in his car, and get the $4,500 cash for clunkers, he will have to get a better car with more MPG and an F-150 is NOT in those requirements!
  6. His insurance will be even higher than it is now - again - can't afford it!

So he isn't here to defend himself/make a better case for himself and why he wants his "twuck" but I don't think it is a good idea for him to get a car like that. Maybe - and I say MAYBE - a used truck.

What would be best for him to get is a smaller car, a better MPG car, or a SUV that is a 4-door that he can trade it in for and get his cash for clunkers 'rebate'.

What do you think? Am I being unreasonable? Is he right? Or am I? Am I being too cautious? Or is he being too much in fantasy land to realize he can't afford this?

I wish Suze Orman could talk to him and look at his finances so she could direct him in the right direction... hmmm... anywho...

Please make your comments below and tell me what you think.
Maybe you have inside scoop on cars right now in this crazy economic crisis we are in.

And if you could tell Suze Orman to read all this and give me advice that would be fabulous!

Take care darlings and I'll catch you next time!
