i finally did it!

I got the blackberry curve! Yay!!! It'd pretty awesome so far and can't stop playing around with it! Well I should get to bed! THANK YOU AGAIN KEV! LOVE YOU!

Gotta love grocery shopping!

I just opened the honey butter and they were delicious! I don't know the calorie, fat and fiber content right now but these are just a great little treat after dinner or if you're in a rush.

These apples caught my eye because of their size and name. didn't buy them but aren't they adorable? wonder if they are juicy.

I love greenworks and i need to get all their products when i run out of my old ones.

I have never tried these but they looked too good not to get! and the whole bag is very low on calories!

I love salads and i love when salads have almonds in them. Hence my purchase of almond accents!

We bought a lot more but don't have enough time to go through it all. But those ritz honey butter were amazing! Definite must buy. And they were on sale i think 2/$5.

NKOTB Concert!

That concert was amazing. I have tons of pics from the concert but it would take too long to upload them all on here. So i have a webshots site so you can definitely look at them there! But here are some of them:

One more shopping trip!

So I love my boyfriend no doubt about it! He went with me and he let me shop and he payed (for at least half of the stuff!) First we - no I - went to Victoria's secret because I had a coupon for a free panty and I decided to buy some new underwear and a new bra. I wanted to get a couple of them but I couldn't find my size! I was pissed! And sometimes on the site I can't find my size either so... yeah. But The best part is that I got a bra (I think it's the IPEX bra), six pairs of VS cotton panties (one was free) and a free tote to boot! Since my whole purchase was $50 exactly (after my coupons and $10 gift card that VS sent me in the mail!) I got the free tote which is really cute! I was looking for a new purse and i found one! Yay!

So after VS and we went to Payless and couldn't find any good shoes at a good price. Then we went to Wal-Mart *I love that store!* and found so much cute stuff and got it for under $60!!!

This is a hat that I tried on but didn't get... but definitely might go back for it because I thought I looked horrible in it when I saw this pic but ... it's kinda growin on me!

Then I decided to be goofy and try on these hats... as you can tell my boyfriend was NOT amused!

After about an hour in the store Kevin was getting tired and he didn't feel good so we went home. Isn't he a such a good boyfriend to be carrying all of my stuff??? I love this man!

What we did buy at wal-mart was the really cute green sweater (which Kevin kept telling me to buy PURPLE pants to go with it... yeah he's not much of a fashion guru!
Then he bought me the green pj's which the pants are so fluffy and look very comfy (i didn't wear it because i like to wash my clothes before I wear them!). Then right before i took the pic Kevin goes "you have to show the nyquil!" so that is nyquil in his hand. And on his other hand is three pairs of flats that were only $9!!! they are in right now and are soooo comfy!

So there you have it! My shopping extravaganza!
Gotta love shopping and I love Kevin for being strong and bearing with me!
Love ya babe!

Shake, shake shake shake shake it!

So i went over to my friend's apartment on Thursday night and we had some martinis that she wipped up:

The first batch of martinis were delicious! Not too strong and they were just yummy. But the second ones were way too strong and I don't think martinis go well with pizza which is what we had for dinner! She made it our "Ghoul's Day" because we won't get to spend Halloween with each other.
Plus I made some brownies which were delicious:

And later on when we got the pizza not Lauren or Tina could open the packet of napkins. It was so funny. Tina (whom is pictured here) had to take her keys out and rip it open!

I love those two ladies! They are awesome!
Plus we are going to see NKTB on Monday and we are all sooooooooooooooooooo EXCITED!
It's in Madison Square Garden and we get to spend about two hours walking around NYC. How fab does that sound???
Ok gotta go.
Meeting up with my other friends Quynh and Moni to see Moni's apt. and FINALLY meet her BF of however long Jay. (Moni if you read this it's about time we meet Jay!!!!!)
Updates soon to follow!

Thoughts go out to Jennifer Hudson

So if you haven't heard and are in a secluded place where you can't hear or read the latest news: Jennifer Hudson (Academy Award Winner for 'Dreamgirls') has lost her mother and brother to murder by shots to the head.
Her 7 year old nephew is now missing and they have an amber alert out.

This is from yahoo's OMG! site:
CHICAGO - Authorities investigating the shooting deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother were searching for the missing 7-year-old nephew of the Oscar-winning actress.

A suspect in the deaths was in custody Friday night, but young Julian King had not been seen since the bodies of Darnell Donerson, 57, and Jason Hudson, 29, were found Friday afternoon.

A family member entering Donerson's South Side home Friday afternoon found the woman shot on the living room floor. Responding officers later found Hanson shot in the bedroom, police said.

At least one of the victims suffered defensive wounds, said authorities who described the shooting as domestic violence.

William Balfour, a man suspected in the deaths, was arrested Friday but had not been charged, law enforcement sources told the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times.

Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said investigators were talking to "a number of people in custody" but she declined to elaborate. An Amber Alert issued Friday said Balfour was a suspect in the double homicide.

Records from the Illinois Department of Corrections show Balfour, 27, is on parole and spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle. Public records show one of Balfour's addresses as the home where Donerson and Jason Hudson were shot.

The Cook County medical examiner's office said autopsies for Donerson and Jason Hudson were pending.

Balfour's mother, Michelle, said her son had been married to Hudson's sister, Julia, for several years, but they were separated. She also said Donerson had ordered him to move out of the family's home last winter.

Jennifer Hudson's personal publicist, Lisa Kasteler, said the family wanted privacy.

The tragedy comes as Hudson, who grew up in Chicago, continues to reach new heights in her career. Her song "Spotlight" is No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts and her recently released, self-tiled debut album has been a top seller. She was featured in this year's blockbuster "Sex and the City" movie and is also starring in the hit film "The Secret Life of Bees."

She won an Academy Award for best supporting actress in 2007 for her role in "Dreamgirls." In an interview last year with Vogue, Hudson credited her mother with encouraging her to audition for "American Idol," which launched her career.

The singer, whose father died when she was a teenager, described herself as very close to her family. In a recent AP interview she said her family, which includes older siblings Julia and Jason, helped keep her grounded.

"My faith in God and my family, they're very realistic and very normal, they're not into the whole limelight kind of thing, so when I go home to Chicago that's just another place that's home," she said. "I stand in line with everybody else, or, when I go home to my mom I'm just Jennifer, (so she says), 'You get up and you take care of your own stuff.' And I love that; I don't like when people tell you everything you want to hear, I want to hear the truth, you know what I mean."

Hudson recently announced her engagement to David Otunga, best known for his stint on VH1's reality show "I Love New York."

Hudson's representatives would not disclose her whereabouts Friday. She had been scheduled to appear Monday in Los Angeles to collect an ensemble cast honor at the Hollywood Awards for "The Secret Life of Bees" with co-stars including Alicia Keys, Queen Latifah and Dakota Fanning.

It's a horrible tragedy and my thoughts and prayers go out to Jennifer Hudson. Hopefully they find the terrible person/people who did this and that her nephew is found alive, safe and hopefully not traumatized to the point where he cannot cope with his own loss.

Poor LP & politics can do harm to others???

So I might have mentioned that I absolutely love this one site and I go on it at least 5 times to just check it out.
She posted a video about the ladies on the view and how badly poor elizabeth gets teased because she is pretty much the only republican there. so they were talking about palin and how badly she has affected mccain's issues and that she is why mccain has lost so many voters.
Well LP posted this on her page and some of the people who read it went crazy! it was so mean of them because they told her that she shouldn't even mention politics on her blog and that they only thought that her blog was about beauty tips... ok come on now!!!!!! when someone creates a blog it is theirs to put on whatever the hell they want to put on the blog. if she wants to talk about what she believes in politically then it should be her RIGHT to put up whatever she wants on her OWN BLOG!
Luckily there are many, inlcuding me, who showed her love and told her that she should not change what she does on her blog because some crazy chicks can't just skip over a blog title about politics.
and are politics that sticky that democrats and republicans can't just have a conversation about their differences...?
ok well maybe i just answered my own question... who knows! i know many republicans and even my best friends husband is a republican, my boyfriends family (most of them anyway) are republican, and sometimes my boyfriend sides with the GOP but i mean i still love them and we have tons in common!!! so this entry is dedicated to Lisa Paige: may she keep informing us of her opinions, her likes, her dislikes and more about herself because we all want to know.
thanks LP for all that you do!

Fall is here!

AND I AM LOVING IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the fall weather (although now it is gettin chillier by the day!) and it is actually so beautiful where i live...

as you can tell all the leaves on the trees are changing color and are now falling.
That is the only problem i have with trees that shed: they leave a mess! I would hate to have a home with a big beautiful tree only half of the year. then have to rake all those darned leaves up! Yuck! At least they are now pretty to look at ... what ya think?

Another crazy weekend... GONE!

***This is Kevin and I being silly I think on Thursday night after homework, class, dinner, watching TV and we were just being... well can't you tell from the pic?***

So I started my fun weekend on Friday watching this cutie:

He is so big now!!!!! He is 1 year and two months old and I cannot freakin believe it! He was great though! For a one year old he wasn't too fussy that day AND he let me nap with him real long too... so that was a BIG plus!

I love him in this cute little hat! Awesome!

So even though the weekend was a typical fall like weather weekend, it was hell on earth at my job. like i said on my other post my unit sucks big butt right now!!!!!!!!! They have us working like jackasses and they can't seem to figure out how to get us help! I met with my supervisor today and she said she was going to see what she could do. We'll see!

I am thanking the great big Lord today because i got furloughed today!!!!!!!!! YAY! It would've been even nicer if they could have just called me before I got there but hey i got off and i'm not roaming these long a$$ hallways!

Yes they really are this loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong! each hallway holds 15 private rooms with med/surg patients. my unit was crazy as i left today. we'll see how it is on wed. when i go back there. i work tomorrow in another unit! yay! i love working in this other unit 'cause it's a lot more relaxed!!!

ok have to update with some more pics.

Keeps Getting Better!

Love this song!

Keeps Getting Better by Christina Aguilera

Who by the way is ECUADORIAN!!!

Check it out!

Hate to love getting paid

So work sucks and I am soooooo tired. On my unit we used to have 4 techs on if the census (# of pts on the whole unit) was above 25. But for some stupid reason we are REALLY short on staffing. They are even cuttin out nurses.

I'm so stressed out, tired, my feet hurt, and it sucks being here right now. I do get better pay than my previous jobs but not sure I am happy about this. It is just getting ridiculous how they are treating all the techs right now! This morning there were 2 techs! 2!!!!! That is ridiculous!!!!!!!!! Each tech basically had half the floor! And they concerned about patient safety. Well how this is going patients are going to be suffering cuz I cannot get to them all at once!

*Ok ... deep breathing....*

It's not going well either because I had a Lean Cuisine Chicken Club Panini

and it got "burned" and f*$&#@ up by the microwave at my work.

So it wasn't as delicious as it looks here!

But this is making my day of all hell breaking loose alot better:
It tastes so good. I actually have the half gallon bottle and I'm 3/4 of the way through with it. And I started drinking it at the beginning of my shift. Yum! Plus it has ZERO calories! Works for me!!!
Ok gtg.
Work is calling me back with it's hellish ways!
See ya!

Gala 2008 at Zoellner Arts Center

Marvin Hamlisch & Joel Grey

I love that these two men have done so many great shows!!!

Night at a Gala: Broadway Hits!

So my day started interesting. I got there somewhat early and I come to find out that we have to wear these ridicolous top hats and bowties... How cheesy do I look??? haha But the event and the decorations are BEAUTIFUL!!!

This top one was my favorite centerpiece (^) that were on the tables. This pic was taken at the end of the night so you can't really see how really pretty it was with the rest of the decorations. But I love the different colors and how they used the leaves to sort of bunch them up together! Loved this arrangement!
Ok here is a picture with my fave centerpiece: (^) does it not look really pretty??? I think this one would have looked better with the black linen... that's my personal opinion though!So the larger centerpiece was great as well (^) but I don't really like it since it is so tall! I just don't know but I don't really like em! But for this event they did look great!
We needed to tear down the room that had 19 tables to have two of these (^) types of tables with desserts and different decorations. It turned out really good though! And we only had about... oh 70 minutes to do all of it!
So I think this was a great idea! (^) Instead of having hangings of pictures or like artwork they had lighting as you can see that was everywhere... along the walls, ceilings, floors of the stairs. It looked really awesome! If you go to my youtube site (Chica86Quitena) you can see the skyline of NYC on the walls/ceilings. I love this one! It's different and great for this event: which was based on lots of different Broadway shows.
This next picture I took because the ppl in charge on the left had the three girls on the right model the different looks they had! As you can see they went with the better choice of the black vest with either black/silver hats and bowties or gold/yellow hats and bowties. They had silver vests and gold vests which looked so cheap and ugly! I'm so happy they went witht the black vests!!!
This is me! We actually had really pretty flowers which is pinned to my vest. I was taking a potty break so I decided to take a couple of pics with my lovely penguin outfit, tophat, bowtie and pretty maroon flower!
Don't I look lovely??? hahahaha
As the night drew to a close, we were all acting funny and one of my coworkers decided to make this long tower of coffee cups... very talented isn't she? =P
Well that is all! That was my day... interesting and fun! They had all sorts of goodies to eat but I think I ate too much because I not sleepy at all. I think I'm still in the middle of my sugar rush!
I might as well start uploading my vids so you can check them out!
See ya!

LAMB a novel. The Gospel According to Biff Christ's Childhood Pal

Awesome book! I'm in the midst of it and it's a great book!
You should read it!

So maybe i posted these a while back but just saying i'm getting prepared. I especially like the last pick. Isn't it a cute little halloween house???

Maggy London Ombré Silk Chiffon Babydoll Dress $158
Tahari by Arthur S. Levine Belted Faux Two Piece Dress $128
JS Boutique Ombré Chiffon Dress $188
Maggy London Strapless Bead Bodice Dress $168
Calvin Klein Halter Gown $208.00
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calvin Klein Ruched Mesh Halter Gown $178.00
Adrianna Papell Ruffle Halter Dress $198
Aidan Mattox Niteline Gathered Gown $368
So these dresses are available on the Nordstrom site and are gorgeous.
Am I available to afford ANY of them???
NOPE! =p
They are just to keep in mind for later ... say when I am getting married and having a wedding. Some of these dress types would be great for bridesmaid dresses right??? I think so.
I think my one fave (that is not really a bridesmaid dress) is the Maggy London Strapless Bead Bodice Dress. It's different and I love the design.
The Calvin Klein Halter Gown is actually very pretty except for the bow. I could do without the bow!
The Maggy London Ombré Silk Chiffon Babydoll Dress is actually somewhat too young for me but I just love that color! Especially the way it fades in and out of the dark and light green! I LOVE GREEN!!!
From all of these dresses it figures that I like the Calvin Klein Ruched Mesh Halter Gown and the Aidan Mattox Niteline Gathered Gown as bridesmaid dresses which are both black! I think that's good because it's a neutral color but for my wedding it would need some color. I also like to look at different dresses for bridesmaids because not all girls have the same body type so I would rather have the girls look nicer in a dress that fits them better, rather than going with the same style of dress which might not look right on all of them you know?
On to looking for wedding gowns! Man all these dresses are pricy but so pretty!
***Is it odd that i am looking at bridesmaid dresses and wedding dresses even though I am not engaged??? We've been going out for 3 year but still.... Hmm...***
